Eyes of a Friend

Life with companion animals

I’ve adopted homeless animals many times, and now I’ve added many of my late brother’s cats to my family. There are millions killed every year because they don’t have a home, and this depressed economy has made it harder for many people to support both their human family and their furbabies — people are leaving them behind when they sneak out of their foreclosed home, as well as simply dumping them in the park or taking them to the already filled county pound or humane society.

The No Kill Advocacy movement believes that there is room for most of the homeless dogs and cats, and that improved shelter practices will greatly improve the adoption rates in all locales.
